DOVETAIL BUS STOP SHED
CONCEPT
The design concept is inspired by the competition's four challenges:
segregation, equality, post-conflict rebuilding, and climate crises. It does not only focus on providing easily fabricated and assembled sheds with high stability but also on increasing the social interaction between the community in Lund. The design consists of 90 pieces that are joined together with dovetails. This implies that there is no need for complicated bolts and nut joints. In addition, the origami-shaped form adds more strength and stability to the structure to withstand the most challenging weather conditions. Furthermore, the entire structure is fixed on a concrete U-shaped area that provides stability and allows social interaction between the users while waiting for the bus.
